MAWISA ROUND PLACEMATS 37 CM

These placemats are handmade and made by the Wayuus communities, located in the northeast of Colombia.

The raw material is a species of palm tree known as Mawisa or Isi which grows in the foothills of the Makuira Mountains, where these communities are located. The craftsmen use the serge or diagonal weaving technique in each part of the placemat.
